Swansea City v Chelsea Football Betting Preview

Swansea City host Chelsea in the Capital One Cup semi-final second leg on Wednesday evening in what is sure to be a fantastic night of action in South Wales.

The Swans currently lead 2-0 after their superb win at Stamford Bridge in the first leg and they have Wembley in their sites, as long as they can put in a professional performance here.

Of course, they know the quality that Chelsea have at their disposal and that it will not be easy to reach the final of the competition, so they must remain well organised and make themselves hard to beat.

In that first leg, the Welsh side played a different brand of football by remaining defensively savvy and then hitting the opposition of the counter attack. Something similar will be just what Michael Laudrup is after in this one.

If you think that Laudrup’s team will breeze through to the semi-final and win this match on the night, then you can back them at odds of 31/10 with BetVictor.

As for Chelsea, despite their two-goal deficit, they will still be expecting to come out on top here and make the final. With the players that they have, they could even win this tie inside 90 minutes and blow Swansea away.

The problem with the European Champions though is that you just don’t know what sort of performance you are going to get from them and they don’t often play well for the entire 90 minutes.

Rafael Benitez must make sure his side are at their best from start to finish. It is no surprise that they are the favourites with the bookmakers to win this one on the night and if you fancy a bet on the away team, they are at 20/21 with Betfred.

There is a lot of Chelsea fans making the long journey down to the Liberty Stadium and they will want to see their side reach Wembley on Wednesday night.

The first goal is going to be key in this one and there will be plenty of bets on who might break the deadlock.

At the moment, Demba Ba is considered as the favourite as he is at 9/2 with Ladbrokes.

Betting on Michu to score this campaign has been like printing money as he continues to find the net on a regular basis. If you think he will have the first say in this one, then his chances are rated at 8.00 (7/1) with William Hill.

We think this is going to be an interesting match and one that Chelsea manage to win on the night. However, we can see them taking the match by two goals to one, which of course wouldn’t be enough to send them into the final. This happening is available at 8/1 with Paddy Power.

It should be a cracking night of action.
