Reading v Chealsea Football Betting Preview

There is a full round of Premier League fixtures to look forward to this week and two sides with very different ambitions for the campaign meet at the Madjeski Stadium on Wednesday as Reading host Chelsea.

The Royals are of course looking to survive in the league, whereas Chelsea know they need the points here to ensure they stay in the top four of the league.

Reading have found some form in recent weeks though, winning two of their last three top flight matches. They have not only got the results, but done so by playing some great football.

Brain McDermott should be confident that his men can take something against Chelsea on Wednesday evening, especially if the home fans get right behind them.

Some had written Reading off a few weeks ago, but they have shown great character since the turn of the year and now, are within just a point of safety.

They do offer some good value from the bookmakers for a win here as well as they are currently being offered at 6/1 with Boylesports.

Reading come into this one on the back of a 4-0 FA Cup win over Sheffield United, so should be full of confidence.

Chelsea are struggling right now and in their FA Cup tie, they could only manage a 2-2 draw at League One outfit Brentford, something that infuriated the fans.

Make no about it, this is a must win for the Blues and if they don’t claim all three points, Rafael Benitez will be getting even more jeers from the travelling fans.

As we know, when Chelsea are on top of their game, there is no team better to watch, but something isn’t right at the moment and the Spaniard might need a change of tactics for this one.

If you fancy a bet on the London side winning this one, they have odds of 1/2 with Paddy Power.

Betting on the half-time/full-time market looks to be where the value is at for this one and the away team winning at both stages of the game is at 5/4 with Stan James.

Bets of Reading doing the same thing is being offered at 12/1 with Betfred.

What we fancy for this one though is for Chelsea to be winning at half-time, but the match end in a draw. The chances of this happening are rated at 20/1 with Blue Sqaure.

It should be an interesting 90 minutes and is certainly a game where you can take some money off the bookmakers.

If we get an early goal in this one, it could be a cracker.
