Norwich City v Manchester United Betting Preview

The evening kick-off in the Premier League this weekend comes from Carrow Road as Norwich City take on Manchester United. Of course these two have very different ambitions for the campaign, but the points that are up for grabs are just as precious.

United know that a win will see them either extend their lead, or regain their position at the top of the league with Manchester City and Chelsea both in action on Saturday afternoon, whereas Norwich can move further clear of the bottom three with a result here.

The Canaries are unbeaten in four top flight matches as well so certainly come into Saturday’s encounter with some confidence and form. Norwich have made Carrow Road somewhat of a fortress as well after losing only one game at home in all competitions this campaign.

As they are going up against a team of United’s ability though, it is no surprise that Chris Hughton’s men are the underdogs for this one and you can back them at 13/2 with SkyBet to cause an upset and take all three points.

As for Manchester United, they are the ‘Comeback Kings’ this campaign and once again came from behind to beat Aston Villa last weekend. The Red Devils went into half-time 2-0 down, but an inspired substitution from Sir Alex Ferguson, bringing on Javier Hernandez at the break helped them claim all three points with a 3-2 win.

This time out though, Ferguson will want a solid performance from his men and a comfortable victory – but know they must perform at their best to achieve this as Norwich will be desperate to claim a famous win.

With Chelsea only managing a draw with Liverpool on Sunday, United moved to the top of the Premier League table and will now have every intention of staying there. After four wins from four in the league, bets on an away win are sure to be popular and its chances of happening are rated at 7/15 with 32Red.

As mentioned, Manchester United have gone a goal down on numerous occasions this campaign so betting on a Norwich player to score first could offer some great value. It is the Canaries skipper Grant Holt that is the most likely to break the deadlock for the home team as he is at 9/1 with Coral.

However, many are sure to still bet on a United player scoring first with their huge array of attacking talent. Robin van Persie is at 3/1 with William Hill, whereas Hernandez is being offered at 11/2 with Bet365.

We like the look of heading into the correct score market for this one and it is a comfortable win for the visitor’s that we expect this time out. You can back a 3-0 win for Ferguson’s side at 10/1 with Stan James.

Carrow Road is sure to be rocking on Saturday evening and it should be 90 minutes of entertainment in Norfolk.
