Arsenal v Manchester City Football Betting Preview

The Super Sunday fixture this weekend is all set to be a cracker as Premier League champions Manchester City make the journey to the Emirates Stadium to take on Arsenal. The two sides have different ambitions for the campaign, but if they are both at their best, it will be a tough one to call.

City are trying to claw their way back into the title race and close the seven point gap on Manchester United, whereas Arsenal are trying to ensure Champions League qualification once more after an inconsistent first half to their season.

These two both play a brand of football that is extremely pleasing on the eye and have a lot of attacking quality.

With Everton, Tottenham Hotspur and Chelsea all in action on Saturday afternoon, the Gunners know the pressure could really be on them to pick up all three points here.

A bet on a win for Arsene Wenger’s side does offer a good bit of value as well as they are at 17/10 with Blue Sqaure.

Arsenal will need to play their fast, attacking football to cause their opponents trouble and the likes of Theo Walcott and Santi Cazorla must be on top of their game.

As for Manchester City, they could kick-off ten points behind United so like the Gunners, might have a lot of pressure to claim an important victory.

The Citizens went down 1-0 in this fixture last year and were not at the races for the entire 90 minutes. Roberto Mancini knows his men cannot afford to let that happen again as another defeat could be a huge blow in their title hopes.

If City can put in performances similar to the ones at Norwich City and at home to Stoke City recently in the Premier League, then they are sure to be taking the spoils here. Betting on an away win will give you good odds of 17/10 with SkyBet.

The correct score market is always good for  big games as it offers some cracking value and at the moment, a 1-1 draw looks to be the most likely result as it is at 11/2 with Stan James.

Both sides are then being offered at 9/1 with Paddy Power to win 2-1 at the Emirates, so it is a tough match to call.

For that reason, we are going to head into the half-time/full-time market and place some bets there. For this encounter, we fancy Arsenal to be winning at half-time, but the points to be shared. You can back this happening at 14/1 with Sportingbet.
